Nurse's Notes: Health & Safety Reminders

Hello ISD Community,

I hope you all had a fun and relaxing October Break!

As we head into the next chapter of ISD activities, which includes Halloween and Spirit Week celebrations, a new semester of after-school athletics and activities, and performances, I would kindly like to remind families that children who are feeling ill must stay home from school and school-based activities along with their siblings until symptom free for 24 hours.

Please also remind your children that while mask wearing on campus is optional outdoors in certain circumstances, mask wearing is mandatory in all spaces indoors, such as classrooms, the library, the health clinic, and all other indoor spaces on the ISD campus.

Lastly, I would like to communicate an update to our quarantine protocol. Students who must quarantine due to having close contact with a positive Covid case will quarantine for 10 days, not 14 days, in most circumstances. This decision has been adopted from CDC guidelines. If your child is a close contact and is fully vaccinated for Covid-19, please reach out to the health clinic directly for further instructions at nurse@faculty.isd.sn.

As always, thank you for helping to keep our community safe!

Cheers to your Health,

Nurse Jen
