As we wind down to the vacation period, students across the secondary school have been working hard to finish up assignments in various DP and MYP subject areas. Grade 10 students, in particular, have been busy this past week as they have now made an initial selection of IB DP courses for the 2022-23 academic year. They also have their first major deadline for the personal project report coming up next week. We ask all Grade 10 parents to please check in with their children at this time. In Grade 11, extended essay supervisors have now been allocated to each student and we wish them the very best of luck on this important journey.
On Monday, secondary school teachers took part in a training session that dealt with the evaluation of unit planners. Teachers will now be able to turn a critical eye into their units of learning to help develop them further. This will in turn produce meaningful learning experiences for students. Teachers now have a good idea of how to apply/adapt teaching methods to help implement ATL skills (Approaches to Learning skills) to their units which is a core component of both the Middle Years Programme and the Diploma Programme. On behalf of the Teranga Centre, we wish the ISD community a restful break.
