Notes from the Teranga Center: Senior Week

It was lovely for our community to enjoy the holiday last week in order to celebrate Korité, the end of the month of Ramadan.

It is exciting to know that at the time of writing our Senior Class is almost at the end of the final examination period. We would like to congratulate them and look forward to the celebrations throughout Senior week. The last examination was French and aside from 5 students, who are studying Spanish, the rest of the graduation class finished together on May 20th. Our Spanish scholars were delighted to finish a few days earlier.

We continue to focus end-of-year attention on our Middle Years Program (MYP). Our recent event in the new theater introduced the Personal Project to parents and students in Grade 9. As mentioned in the previous dispatches, the MYP Personal Project is the culmination of 5 years of inquiry-based learning. Students demonstrate their learning in various ways at the end of Grade 10 on a subject of their choice. We are delighted that the PYP and MYP curriculum provides coherence throughout our school which prepares our young people so well for the Diploma Program in the final two years of school. The evening session was led by Mr. Denrol Carayol and Ms. Jen Loria.
