In preparation for ISD’s visiting authors, the library will host literary circles in advance of the author speaking event. The literary circles will include snacks, tea, coffee, and lively conversation about the authors’ various works.

Ayesha Harruna Attah is the author of Harmattan Rain, nominated for the Commonwealth Writers’ Prize, Saturday's Shadows, and The Hundred Wells of Salaga. Her writing has appeared in the New York Times Magazine, Slush Pile Magazine, Asymptote Magazine, and the Caine Prize Writers’ 2010 Anthology. She received the 2016 Miles Morland Foundation Scholarship for non-fiction, and shuttles back and forth between Senegal and Ghana.

Boubacar Boris Diop is a Senegalese novelist, journalist and essayist. He has published Murambi, the Book of Bones, inspired by his investigations in Rwanda in 1998, four years after the massacre. His other works include The Knight and his Shadow, Doomi Golo: The Hidden Notebooks, and Africa, Beyond the Mirror.
