ISD’s Elementary School community will be taking action and practicing being caring by collecting food donations for our ISD support staff.
Ramadan has begun and many here in Senegal will close the month with the celebration of Korite, on or around June 5th. We are collecting food donations for ISD support staff to commemorate the holiday with their families. Together, as a community, we would like to model and promote being caring and open-minded with our kids.
We appreciate and hope that many of our families will participate by providing some of the food items listed below.
Suggested Food Items (and suggested amounts):
Couscous Moroccan (1 box.)
Vermicelles (1 package)
1 box of fruit juice (1 liter)
sugar (1 kilo)
1 can of green peas
1 nescafe instant type coffee (1 large container)
1 box Lipton Black tea
tomato paste (1 large can)
milk (1 liter bottles) for the kids
1 bottle of vegetable oil (liter)
If you are able to donate any items, please send them to your child’s homeroom teacher by May 24th, 2019.
Our goal is for each classroom to collect enough of the above items to divide them equally among 4 of our ISD support staff.
Thank you in advance for participating in this joint community effort modeling the attributes of caring and open-minded. The ISD staff truly appreciates your generosity.
