We are excited to announce that we will have The Educational Garden Project growing another garden at ISD this school year!
To get started, bring your compost to ISD. We are collecting compost and inviting families and staff to bring all their compost from home.
The ISD Garden Project is an innovative initiative working with students, teachers, and the community to build and grow environmental connections and awareness. Collecting compost and building soil is the place to start. A garden teaches children fundamental life responsibilities, environmental awareness around renewable resources, and how to grow clean healthy food.
Starting this Monday, September 6th we will be collecting compost three mornings a week - Monday, Wednesday, and Friday before 9am.
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR COMPOST CONTAINS ONLY FRUIT & VEGETABLE SCRAPS & EGGSHELLS. NO MEAT OR DAIRY!!!
The collection location will be at the pagoda lunch area on the grass, it will be marked with a sign. You may also walk to the garden behind the library anytime and dump your compost on the compost pile.
Cheers and thank you!
