ISD has a beautiful little garden!
We are excited to have the opportunity to continue the development of the garden project this year. Over the past 6 years, ISD has sustained an outside garden classroom that has been utilized for an array of different projects and interests by students, teachers, and families. Our focal points this year will emphasize topics on protecting biodiversity, building soil, restoring the water cycle, food and medicine, and creating pollinator and wildlife habitats.
COMMUNITY COMPOST, BRING YOUR COMPOST TO ISD!
We have an active school-wide composting practice in place and families, students, and staff are welcome and encouraged to bring compost to school from home.
We will start collecting community compost every day in the morning starting Monday, August 22nd, anytime in the morning before 9:00 am.
NO MEAT OR DAIRY!!! FRUIT & VEGETABLE SCRAPS & EGGSHELLS ONLY. THANK YOU!
The location is the wheelbarrow at the Pagoda lunch area on the grass, it will be marked with a sign.
You may also walk to the garden behind the library anytime and dump your compost on the compost pile. If you are interested in using the garden space feel free to contact Nyah Gueye.
Cheers, and Thank you! The Garden Project.
