ISD Community COVID19 Procedures and Updates

  • All parents must do a Daily Home Screening of your child’s health prior to leaving home in the morning. This includes taking your child’s temperature, checking symptoms, and being aware of any contact with someone with COVID19.

  • If any of the symptoms in the screening are identified, your child should stay home from school and a medical professional should be consulted.

  • Please inform the School Health Clinic via email that your child is home sick at nurse@faculty.isd.sn.

  • If the medical professional does not recommend a COVID19 test, your child may return to school once symptom and fever free for 24 hours.

  • If a COVID19 test is recommended by a medical professional, please inform the School Health Clinic via email that your child is undergoing testing. Your child should quarantine at home until the results are received.

  • If the result is negative, your child may return to school once symptom and fever free for 24 hours. The school must be provided with the negative test result.

  • If the result is positive, your child should remain in isolation for 10 days and may return to school once symptom and fever free for 24 hours. A doctor's note is required to return to school.

  • If your child has had close contact in the past 2 weeks with a person with confirmed or presumed COVID19, your child should stay home from school and a medical professional should be consulted. Close contact is defined as being within 6 feet (1.8 meters) of another person for more than 15 minutes, with or without a mask on.

  • Please inform the School Health Clinic via email that your child has had close contact with someone with COVID19.

  • If the medical professional does not recommend a COVID19 test, your child should quarantine at home for 14 days before returning to school.

  • If a test is recommended and the result is negative, your child may return to school. The school must be provided with the negative test result.

  • If the result is positive, your child should remain in isolation for 10 days and may return to school once fever and symptom free for 24 hours. A doctor’s note is required to return to school.

  • If any member of your family or household is undergoing testing for COVID19, your child should stay home from school until the results are received.

  • Please inform the School Health Clinic via email that someone in your family or household is undergoing testing.

  • Your child may return to school if the result of the COVID19 test is negative. The school must be provided with the negative test result.

  • If any member of your family or household (other than your child) has had close contact in the past 2 weeks with a person with confirmed or presumed COVID19, you should monitor your child closely for symptoms and do temperature checks twice daily.

  • Your child may continue to come to school.

  • If your child or any member of your family or household develops symptoms, your child should stay home from school and a medical professional should be consulted.

  • Please inform the School Health Clinic via email and apply the above procedures.

  • Please contact the School Health Clinic via email with any questions or concerns, or contact school nurse Jennifer Thermenos at 76.740.8050 (direct call or what’s app).

  • Please be reminded that all email and phone communication is confidential.

  • All required test results and doctor’s notes should be emailed to the School Health Clinic at nurse@faculty.isd.sn prior to sending your child back to school, for example you may email a photo of the documentation. Sometimes, a what’s app or text message photo may be appropriate.
