Introducing Mary Giuliani, our Substitute Elementary Counselor

We are pleased to welcome Mary Giuliani to the ISD faculty as the long-term substitute for our Elementary School Counselor, Shandra Hall. Mary will be covering Shandra’s maternity leave in the coming months.

Ms. Giuliani comes to us from Missoula, Montana. She is a CACREP-Accredited and Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with a Master’s in Counselor Education. Prior to joining us at ISD, she worked as a Counselor and Lecturer for students at the Royal Thimphu College in Bhutan, in partnership with the University of Montana.

Mary has worked with elementary-aged children and families as a counselor in several capacities. While working at Russell Elementary School in Montana last year, she employed therapeutic strategies, from yoga and mindfulness to trauma-informed therapy, to help the social and emotional growth of students.

Ms. Giuliani will be working with our Elementary classes as the Elementary School Counselor, taking over the full breadth of Ms. Hall’s responsibilities. She will be teaching Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) classes with each grade and work to ensure students’ overall wellbeing.

Although this will be her first time living and working in Africa, she has travelled extensively and enjoys learning about foreign cultures. Other hobbies of hers include gardening, cooking, running, hiking and yoga!

We are delighted to have Ms. Giuliani cover this important position and are confident she will fit right into our ISD community.

Welcome Mary!

Regards,
