On Friday, October 12th, Grade 11 students competed in the first ever Amazing Race on Ngor Island. The race started on Ngor beach, where teams hopped into a pirogue and paddled to the island.
From there, they followed a series of clues to 5 different pits stops. Each pit stop had them complete challenges like frying fattaya, paddling out on a surfboard, and even making art of our ocean plastic. Along the way, they collected photos and asked residents to help them translate Diola, Soninke, Mandinka and Pular proverbs into English.
Three teams arrived at the finish line just moments apart, and we all celebrated with a dip in the ocean and a hearty meal of thieboudienne.
