Elementary News: Grade 3 Students Help Endangered Turtles!

After holding a second hand toy/game sale to raise money for the Turtle Sanctuary in Noflaye, the whole 3rd grade went to Le Village des Tortues on Monday, February 5 to deliver the money collected (305,500 cfa!) to Farah Vercoutter, director of the sanctuary.

During the two hours of the visit, the kids learned a lot about turtles, an endangered species, and about the mission of the Sanctuary, which is to rescue and nurture severely malnourished and endangered turtles before bringing them back to their natural habitat in the Ferlo region.

What a great day for the children and for the turtles! We are proud of them and were happy to see that the students saw the fruit of their labor.
