Congratulations to the Class of 2020
Firstly, I would like to thank the secondary administration, teachers, and graduating seniors for putting together a wonderful virtual graduation. While we would have all preferred to celebrate this special event in person, this was truly a memorable event. If you were not able to attend, please take the time to watch recordings of the live sessions and the various speeches. You will learn a great deal about our new alumni and what they think about ISD. In addition, you will hear inspiring speeches from students, a teacher, a board member, and a special guest, who is an ISD parent.
While the teachers have been finishing up this school year, the Board and Administration have been preparing for the 2020-2021 school year. While there is still a great deal of uncertainty, we have outlined a variety of potential scenarios and started planning for each of them. To make sure we are prepared for each of these scenarios, the Board and Administration have made a series of decisions about the 2020-2021 school year including the educational program, budget, and staffing.
We will be communicating these decisions on Friday, June 5th in both video and text formats followed by an ISD Town Hall Meeting on Tuesday, June 9th at 5:00 PM GMT. Parents will be invited to submit questions in advance of the Town Hall Meeting.
There will be regular communication with the parents throughout the summer including at least two additional Town Hall meetings.
Please note, parents may attend the ISD Board of Trustees meeting scheduled for this Friday, June 5th. Email Wendy Kinyeki, Assistant to the ISD Board of Trustees (email@example.com) if you would like to attend the Board meeting. She will send you the Zoom meeting details.

Friday, June 5th: Email to Parents
Video and text communication emailed to parents from Thiaba Camara Sy, Chairperson ISD Board of Trustees, and Alan Knobloch, Director.
Tuesday, June 9th @, 5:00 PM GMT: Town Hall Meeting
Address from Thiaba about Board decisions and Alan will share the outline of our educational scenarios and what the school is doing to prepare for each scenario. We will also answer the parent questions submitted in advance and via chat as time allows. (Zoom meeting details to be sent early next week)
Wednesday, June 10th: Email to Parents
Recording of Town Hall meeting emailed to families along with the text of questions and answers.
Throughout June, July, and August: Weekly Email Updates
Alan will continue to update parents throughout the summer as information becomes available and any decisions are made.
Early July: Town Hall Meeting
The purpose of the meeting is to inform parents of our education plans in detail plus an update on the status of the campus and plans for opening in the fall. This will be followed by an article summarizing the information, video of the town hall, and text of questions and answers.
