I am pleased to announce the hiring of our two administrative vacancies. Colin Crumpton will be our new Activities and Athletic Director. Elizabeth Den Hartigh will be the new Elementary Assistant Principal. Both administrators will start in August 2019.
Colin Crumpton - Activities and Athletic Director
Colin is currently the Activities and Athletic Director of the Cayman International School. He was the first choice of the Administration and the search committee comprised of students, parents, and teachers. He started his career as a middle school social studies teacher and coach in South Carolina before moving to the Cayman Islands.
Those who interviewed Colin were impressed by his dedication to students and his school community. Katie Lennon, our PE Department Head, was on the interviewing committee, and noted, "What I liked to hear from Colin is his idea of encouraging a community of we rather than I. He spoke of the importance of interacting with students, asking them questions and finding out more about them. He is clearly a great conversationalist, which will be a quality he will be using on a daily basis when working with the various different members of our large community. He came across as humble, real and personable."
Vice-Chair of the ISD Board, Jennifer Davis, added that "he gave a great example of being a team player - being a good team player requires commitment, relationship building and hard work. This is something he is prepared to bring to ISD."
Colin’s wife, Caitlin, will be our new Communications Coordinator. She has a degree in hospitality and tourism and started her career as an event planner. Her background in marketing will be beneficial for the school as we move forward. They have a one-year-old daughter.

Liz is currently the Head of Primary School at the Utahloy International School in Zengcheng, China. She was the top choice of the Administration and the search committee comprised of teachers and a parent. Liz has experience working in early childhood, as well as learning support and ELL students.

I connected with her immediately and I am looking forward to working with her and learning from her. I think she is the perfect fit for the Elementary leadership team!"

Her international life coupled with her experience as an elementary principal make her a great fit for ISD. I was especially drawn to her easy smile and friendly personality. Like our current Assistant Principal, Ms. Jody, Ms. Liz will be a strong advocate for children of all abilities."
Liz’s husband, Jon, will be the IB Art teacher.. He has ten years of experience as an IB Diploma Art teacher as well as expertise in IB MYP Art.
