Director's Dispatch: Thank You

I want to thank all of you for sharing your children with us. Despite Covid, we had our second highest enrollment ever. Each child has had their own story and journey. My greatest joy as Director is watching our students in action, in the classroom, on the playing fields, and at recess!

We are on track to have students on campus for 173 days or 96% of the possible days. This is a significant achievement at a time when some schools did not hold classes on campus at all or alternated between being open and closed throughout the year. We are fortunate to be in a country that has prioritized keeping schools open. In addition, our health and safety guidelines helped prevent outbreaks of the virus in our community.

I want to express my gratitude and appreciation to the ISD staff, counselors, and administrators for having the courage to teach and work in person. Being open virtually all year was only possible due to their efforts. A special thank you to our medical team Jennifer Thermenos (Nurse), Physician Assistant, James Corbin (Physician Assistant), as well as Suzanne Wardini (Assistant Director), for successfully implementing our health and safety protocols and conducting contact tracing.

To the families who are leaving us, best of luck in your new adventure! In a few months, we will be contacting you to see how your transition has gone and how well prepared your children are for their new school.

To the families who are returning, thank you for continuing to choose ISD. The Board, Administration, and faculty are committed to making our school even better next year as we continue to implement the IB Primary Years and Middle Years Programs, strengthen our IB Diploma Program, and use our new Performing Arts Center and Athletic Complex.

To all of the ISD families, have a restful and safe summer.

Parent Town Hall

with Dr. Knobloch

Tomorrow night, at 5:00 pm GMT, I will be hosting a parent town hall to share how we will update the health and safety guidelines for the 2021-2022 school year. There will also be time for questions from parents. We hope to see you there!
