Dear Parents, I have been informed that a parent of two ISD Secondary School students has tested positive for Coronavirus. The children were on campus on Friday and the parent received the test results on Saturday. I have sent a separate email to the families of the other students in the classes. If you do not receive a separate email, then your child was not in a class with these students. I have communicated with the parent. I wished them a speedy recovery and good health for the whole family. I have been in touch with the medical professionals at the U.S. Center for Disease Control. They are investigating the case further. While the news may be unsettling, it is important to remember the vast majority of cases for individuals under the age of 20, who have tested positive for Coronavirus, have been mild. All community members should be practicing measures to prevent the spread including the following.
Frequent hand washingCoughing into a tissue or shoulderAvoid close contact with people who are sickClean and disinfect the surfaces in your house frequently
For more information about Coronavirus, please see the ISD Coronavirus page. Note, as we now have a case in our community, the campus will be closed to students and parents effective immediately. I will provide more information as it becomes available. As always, I am available for any questions or concerns you may have. Feel to reach out to me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Sincerely, Dr. Alan Knobloch Director, ISD
