Greetings from the ISD Board of Trustees.
We held our first Board meeting of the school year on Thursday, September 24, 2020. The main highlights were:
1. The finalization and adoption of the Board's Goals and task for this year as follows:
Goal 1: Provide the resources, processes, and policies to address the physical health, mental health, and safety of the ISD community related to COVID-19
Goal 2: Ensure that each member of our community feels respected, included, connected, and safe.
Goal 3: Ensure that ISD facilities meet the needs of our current and future programs for a student body of 796 and
Task 1: To refresh/extend the current strategic plan
2. The Director's goals and task for this school year as follows:
Goal 1: Keep school open for on-campus classes for as many days as possible.
Goal 2: Continue to monitor and improve the learning scenarios, including the online learning program and hybrid learning program.
Goal 3: Take concrete action, so all members of the community feel heard, respected, valued, and safe and
Task 1: ISD is authorized as an MYP School
3. The approval of the updated ISD Board Governance Agreement and
4. The Approval of the final 2020 – 2021 school calendar
The Board also discussed, as a first reading, a parking project that might be a solution to the perennial parking problem at ISD. The meeting finished with the Board renewing its commitment to the school in these uncertain times.

The next Board meeting will be held virtually on Thursday, October 15, at 6:00 pm.
