Greetings from the ISD Board of Trustees,
We held our December Board meeting on Wednesday, December 15, 2021. The Trustees had a chance to watch a short play performed by two Grade 8 students in the new Performing Arts Center.
During the Board meeting, some key topics were discussed:
The Director presented an initial overview of the 2022 – 2023 Capital and Operating Budgets which enables the Trustees to strategically plan for the next fiscal year ensuring the school remains financially viable in all aspects. A second look and vote at the budgets are due at the January Board meeting
The Board gave its approval for the funding of a retirement fund for the school’s Support Staff which will go a long way in supporting an integral part of our community who have, to date, received limited long-term benefits as part of their compensation package but have always shown a great level of dedication and commitment to ISD.
Lastly, the Board, with feedback received from the community, discussed and approved the school calendar for the 2022 – 2023 school year. This version of the calendar has the start and end dates as well as all the major holidays.
The next Board meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 26, at 5:45 pm.
