Greetings from the ISD Board of Trustees.
We held our first Board meeting of the school year on Thursday, September 19, 2019. The main highlights have been the finalization and adoption of the Board's and Director's goals for this school year as well as the approval of the updated ISD Board Governance Agreement.
We also had a fascinating presentation by Dr. Knobloch on the History of Enrollment at ISD, followed by a review of both our five-year financial plan and the current year's capital and operations budgets.
The meeting finished with the appointment of Mathieu Lavoie to fill the vacancy left by Marie Blanchard. Mathieu is a Canadian father of two and an international finance expert who will bring his experience and skill to support our Finance and Building & Grounds activities.
We have also welcomed three parent experts to join our Board Committees. Thank you to Carlo Cassina (Policy/D&G), Garth Vant Hul (Inclusion & Diversity) and Nicola Francesconi (Strategic Planning) for volunteering their time to assist with the Board's work.
The next Board meeting is on Thursday, October 24, at 6:00 pm (refreshments served from 5.30 pm).
